| What type of alcohol is
used in the colognes? |
| |
Ethyl alcohol is used in all of the
colognes except Surrender, which is made from SD
alcohol. SD stands for Specially Denatured and is toxic when
ingested. Ethanol [alcohol] is edible, but poisonous at certain
levels. We do not recommend the ingestion of any of our colognes
please keep them away from children and from flames and sparks. |
| Why are they different
colors? |
| |
The essential oils produced by plants
come in a rainbow of color. When we place these essential oils in
alcohol, they show their colors. Resins are often dark, other plant
oils are light, some are colorless. The shocking bright yellow of
Tagetes and the milky white of Sage are their natural colors. |
| Why are they equipped
with a sprayer? |
| |
We hope you will use your cologne to
scent your room and clean your hands. There are so many uses for the
"Original Hand Sanitizer" you will have fun with them to
be sure. |
| Are there any safety
issues with using colognes? |
| |
They should be used carefully around
the eyes and nose. I prefer to apply cologne with my fingers to my
neck, but spraying on other parts of the body is OK. Avoid mucous
membranes, and since the alcohol may prove drying for your hair, you
may want to avoid that area as well. Fire, candle flames, sparks are
all dangerous around alcohol. |
| What is the difference
between perfume and cologne? |
| |
Perfumes are less diluted than
colognes. Since cologne has more alcohol, it is cheaper and may be
used more frequently. It is great at removing gummy, inky stains
from your fingers and sanitizing door knobs etc. Be cautious around
plastics as some may be harmed by the alcohol. Always test first. |
| What is the difference
between a cream and a lotion? |
| |
Creams are thicker than lotions. |
| Are there any
preservatives in your lotions? |
| |
Although lotions and creams can be made
without preservatives, we have chosen to take the advice of experts
in our industry and use the lowest level of parabens allowable.
We feel the necessity of this addition since we have seen the
results of products made without. Molds and bacterial growths in
body care products pose a real hazard to our customers. If we could
be sure that everyone would use up our products before their
expiration dates, we would be happy to leave out the preservative.
This decision has been based on our research with our stores and
their buyers. We do however welcome your thoughts on this and any
subject. Contact us at woodspirits@earthlink.net. |
