Subject: Thank you!
A friend of mine told me about your soaps and had my mother try Pacific Mist for her Rosacia (sp). It worked so well that I tried it on my face. I have dermatitis seborrhea. In 1 use the itching was gone and in 3 days all the flaking skin was gone as well. I love natural products and try to use them as much as possible. I am going to order some more of your soaps and salt scrubs.... could you recommend some other formulas that would be good for me (or just smell good!)?

I also have a 2 year old who is part white and part black. She has eczema on her arms and legs that get pretty itchy. The patches are leaving a lighter skin tone when they clear up (new skin vs tanned skin) which I know will bother her when she is older. I have talked to her doctor about them and he agrees with me about trying natural products first before going for the Rx medicines. I do have a lotion that is helping a little and she loves the smell of it (natural product but I forget the name of it), but I think the soaps that we have tried so far are drying out her skin and making things worse (mostly baby products). Is there any soap in your collection that is better for her to try than others or is there anything that can harm her at her age? Your soaps have helped me out and there is nothing like them on the market around here, I hope that there is one that might help my daughter as well!

Thank you for your time and for making a wonderful product!

We suggested Frankincense and Myrrh and/or Lamb Cakes for these particular situations...also the baby soap Cygnet is a good choice too...all of these soaps are super fatted with Castor oil in the first two and Sweet Almond Oil in the last one. B.K.B.

Dear Woodspirits,

Thank you so much for the fabulous, amazing, healthful, luxurious, and rare-in-this-day-and-age quality of your handcrafted soaps. I’m also impressed that there is a guild for this art.

Pacific Mist is an extraordinary bar-totally effective for cleaning yet therapy every time you use it.

I’ve just bought Spirulina Groove and am look forward to the warming effect of the Italian Bergamot and Mexican Marigold for our Chicago winter.

I’ve let People’s Market know how much I like your product.

Sincerely, D.W., Evanston, IL

Hello, my name is "T.", I worked for a store in Akron long ago that sold the Woodspirits line. Your products are wonderful. No matter what new brands of "handmade" soaps keep popping up everywhere, yours are still my favorite not to mention the best. I recently got "on line" and I am happy to see that you’ve come out with colognes in all of my favorite scents. None of the stores in my area sell the colognes that I’ve noticed, so until now I did not know they existed. Anyway it’s nice to see your company doing well, and expanding the product line. Good luck in all future endeavors.

Greetings from Colorado. I wanted to share our delight when your products are in our home. We shop at Wild Oats in Aurora for organic products; we often stop and look at the Woodspirits soap beautiful and enticingly displayed on the shelf. Given our income and the cost of each soap, $6-$7 per soap, our purchase comes occasionally and with delight. Our favorite soap is Zanzibar and we have to admit that bath time is always looked forward to when this bar is awaiting us. We are cautious with this soap due to it’s ability to dissolve if the shower head repeatedly reaches it, therefore the higher it is on the bathroom shelf, the longer it lasts. This soap is an experience in itself and leaves a lingering fragrance that soothes the spirit.

Anyway, we wanted you to know that your work and your products are valued in our home. And one day, we shall move past the Zanzibar on the shelf to try the other beautiful products you offer.

Sincerely, A.P.,  Aurora, CO

To Woodspirits,

I am very interested in ordering your products, but have a question about my choice of soaps. Which soaps are appropriate for facial use?

I have combination skin with both dry and oily areas and am prone to occasional breakouts. What do you recommend? Thank you for your assistance.

K. P.

Hello K. P.,

This is a question we have from time to time and we love responding to it. Our soaps are true soaps, not detergents, like almost all solid bars on the market, even the "clear" ones that call themselves glycerin soaps, when in fact our soaps contain more glycerin than theirs....confusing for the consumer isn't it. Latest news is that the "clear guys" may be detergents too, a real no-no for your skin.

Our soaps are rich in glycerin. You can see this by simply pushing your finger against a corner of the bar and seeing how soft it is. Most of our line is made with coconut/olive oil base for the soap. Only a few bars, Azteca, Marco Polo, and Amber are 100% olive oil, called Castile soap for the region in Spain where olive trees grow. This puts all of our soaps into the "facial" category. IF you want to choose the ones that are even richer in our line, and especially if you have sensitive skin as you report, you may want to choose either Frankincense and Myrrh, Cygnet, or Lamb Cakes as they have extra oils added, Palmarosa Green Clay is not "super fatted" as the others I mentioned, but Palmarosa oils is used for acne and green clay is very helpful in breakouts. Spirulina Groove would be a nice choice as well. Incidentally, my daughter who is newly married stopped by for the weekend and stocked up on her favorite soap "Seaweed Scrub" and said when she and her husband run out of this soap, they tend to have breakouts too.

I hope this helps you choose. Incidentally, the Olive oil soaps I mentioned are wonderful for your hair if your water is not too hard. I use any and all of our soaps to wash my hair as well, and it is very kind to my scalp. Men love our Azteca Shampoo bar. With this one product they can wash their body, their hair and shave with it as well.

Good Luck
Barbara
